I just got to my apartment in Tokyo, after being trapped on the runway for 4 hours because my plane was broken. Yay.
Without any further ado, here are my photos from X Japan at Otakon. Please note that most of the press was requred to stay seated so I couldn’t move and change angles…

Otakon is a very large event that draws over 20,000 people to Baltimore City every year. This year there is the adding incentive of a mini-X Japan performance by Yoshiki and Sugizo. Recently Otakon has gone out of its way to avoid scheduling the convention during Baltimore Ravens(NFL), or Baltimore Orioles (MLB) games because the [...]

Hear Japan has long stuck to its “Japanese bands only” guns, there are plenty of Japanese musicians outside of Japan but the site has always promoted and sold music strictly from the islands of Japan. Breaking that trend is the Visual Kei band [geist]. It would come as no surprise to see a Japanese language [...]

They’ve been relatively known to the American market for some time now, but probably got their biggest exposure as the music for Nintendo’s initial wave of Wii commercials.
This year’s Otakon will be [...]

If you’ve checked out the news anytime in the last couple days you’ll know the east coast got whacked by a big snowfall. In fact, it was the most snow in December in Baltimore City history since they started keeping records of it in 1883. Here are some pictures from the snow, unedited. Hit the [...]

Restaurant Review: Teavolve.

Starbucks is omnipresent, its hard to remember a time when there wasn’t a Starbuck on every other corner and in every large bookstore. There’s a Baltimore chain that might just potential to go after the Starbucks empire:Teavolve. Teavolve is the anti-Starbucks. They focus on tea, selling coffee yes, but tea is their thing. Whereas [...]
