Jasmine You has died.
Aug 9th, 2009 by Lee Shichi M.
It was announced today via Versailles’ homepage that the band’s bassist Jasmine You had passed away. Jasmine You announced just a short while ago that he was going to be taking a break from musical activity for a little while because of his health, but there was no real indication that it was anything serious making this news even more shocking. Specific details about his death have not yet been revealed by the band, pending his immediate family’s consent.
According to Jame.com the band was intending to forge ahead on their next album without him while he was taking a break, but now they will postpone the album.
I had the chance to meet Jasmine You a couple of times and each time he struck me as a friendly person. I’ll never forget him sitting there in a bath robe playing with his bass as he tried out his english on me before Versailles’ 2008 show in Yokohama. I’d expected that I’d meet him again and return the favor, try out my Japanese on him as it improved…but now I never will. Unfortunately Versailles’ manager is no stranger to the death of one of her artists, she also managed hide.
He was a colorful character with a unique style. He’ll be missed.
How will you remember him?

Wait! Their manager managed hide? I just got finished talking about hide in shattered-tranquilities section on this event. Everything today is becoming weird. So suddenly. I have cried all day over You-dono’ passing and mourned for over 9 hours. He has made such an impact on me in music, he’s actually the reason why Versailles is my favorite Vkei band. I haven’t changed my multiply layout of Versailles since the time i put it up.
This is such a sad time and 2009 turned out to be the worst year ever.
My dear, You-dono, you will be missed. R.I.P. as your memory as well as your beauty shall live on forever. You are the dream.

We will have a commemoration with the members of their official street team.. we made a bulletin on myspace ans some forums, and if you want to participate, you could… here is the bulletin:
Dear Roses!
We think for now all of you know the terrible news. On Friday (2009. 08. 14.) at 8 pm we would like to make a commemoration. We will organize an event called Versailles Camp where the Hungarian Official Street Team members will light lilac candles and at the same time the other fans who can’t be there will do the same at the several parts of the country… it would be great if we could change it to an international commemoration, so please – if you can – join us! Light lilac candles at your homes on Friday at 8 o’clock in the evening (set it to your time)!
We think this is the less we can do in our deep respect…
Thank you
If you could, tell the other Roses about this ^^
i think there will be other people who will join us ^^

This is such terrible news, the weight of which can hardly be understood. It’s taken me several days to come to terms with this. I’ll definitely be lighting some lilac candles tomorrow.
I hope and pray for the love and condolences of his family, friends, and fans that he touched the lives of. Musicians can become very dear in the hearts of their fans, so much so that the pain from the loss can be quite devastating. It’s sad to see so many are hurting, but great to see how far Jasmine’s influence has reached.
Rest in Peace, dear one.

It’s really hard, as others have said, to take this as reality. It still feels like some sick joke. I keep hoping to find that some idiot hacked their page and posted that notice and that it is a lie, but everytime I check it is still there.
How I remember Yuu is as he was the time I met him. Full on in make-up and with a smile on his face blowing me a kiss after having gotten his autograph and telling me “Bye-bye” in that feminine tone he uses.
I had intended to meet the members of Versailles again as well, but I suppose that will never happen the way I had imagined it. He is very missed.

Huh? Really? This is a big shock for me since I’ve only been following them for over a year. I’ve seen the “Ascendead Master” PV And it was awesome, mind you! Versailles won’t be the same without Jasmine. Rest easy, Jasmine. Peace out, man.
Condolences,
